This was my third time capturing this beautiful bunch.  We had a clear blue sky day, lots of wind, and lots of fun.  There were snuggles, laughs, and wiggles.  Family photography should be fun and it sure was on this day.  <3

Our Yearly Date | Seattle Family Photographer

There are many things that make me feel confident as an artist but perhaps the best compliment anyone can ever give me is to come back again for portraits.  I have captured this family many times over the past few years and it has been such a pleasure to watch their little girl grow.  But what has been the most special is the relationship that I have formed with them, as people.  We chat, we catch up, we hug.  I love these three.  Family photography has allowed me to meet the most amazing people and for that I am thankful.

All The Way From Texas | Seattle Family Photographer

I treasure my time spent with any family, but when they come all the way from Texas and take time out of their vacation to have me capture them, I get pretty excited.  This family was so much fun.  The kids were so sweet and kind to each other.  It was such a gorgeous Seattle summer day and we made some beautiful images together.  I wanted to share every single image from their gallery.  If you can't tell, I give huge galleries and make no apologies for it.  If its a beautiful image full of love and light you better believe I am giving it to them.  Enjoy this gorgeous bunch!

I will always remember this little guy.  This session was a huge turning point for my newborn style. I went in to the home with no plans of posing and only the intention to capture the true essence of who this little baby was, just like I do with my family sessions.  You see, I was still posing newborns in the more "modern" way but it really didn't suite me.  This is my style of newborn photography and I love it so.

It really started when my third baby was born.  She was sound asleep, I got all my newborn stuff out, got her naked and started to pose her.  And it felt wrong to see her like that, unnatural.  She was perfect just how she was.  So I changed.  Newborn photography will always be special to me, probably because of my ten years as a NICU nurse, but the way I capture my newborns and the people who love them is so much more me now and that is a beautiful thing.

This newborn shoot was one of my favorites to date.  Just so real. My style of newborn photography has evolved and changed over the years and it feels so much more like me now. Focusing on the connection and the new family that is so special.
